The Social March starts in Nezalezhnasti Avenue 15

The Social March is to start at the Academy of Sciences at 00.00 p.m. 4 November. Anatol Liabedzka, head of the United Civil Party, the organizing committee member informed about it Charter’97 press center.

But at the same time, according to Liabedzka, the action organizers are going to come to Kastrychnitskaya Square at 00.00 p.m. to lead the participants to the authorized place of gathering.

The further route (from the Academy of Sciences) hasn’t been determined yet, according to the UCP leader.

“Our aim is to gather the people who have never visited such actions, so we should be very tactful: how to combine the energy of the active people with those who are wary of such events. It will be a success if we manage to unite the active people, students with those who have never participate in such actions. It is important for us the people have no fear. That’s why we decided to start the action from the Academy of Sciences. But the organizing committee hasn’t made a decision on the further route”, - Liabedzka said.

Yesterday the Minsk City Executive Committee didn’t give the permission on holding the action along the asked route. We remind, the application for the Social March holding in Minsk 4 November was sent to City Executive Committee 21 September. The organizers planned the action to be held from Kastrychnitskaya Square to the national library.

23 October the Social March applicants met with the Minsk City Executive Committee representatives. Henadz Kurbeka, head of the ideological department at the city administration declared that there wouldn’t be a permission for the asked route and offered another one - from the square at the Presidium of Belarusian Academy of Sciences to Bangalor Square.
