«Gazeta Wyborcza»: Poland’s future Prime Minister can be interdicted to enter Belarus

Leader of “Civil Platform” Donald Tusk will be the first Prime Minister in Poland’s history who is not welcome at the country’s eastern neighbours’, the author of the article “Tusk will not enter Belarus” published in the current issue of the Polish “Gazeta Wyborcza” stated.

The Polish newspaper remarks that the Belarusian press covered the parliamentary election in Poland emphasizing that Mr. Tusk “has been involved into the dirty propaganda actions on the territory of our country. He has interfered with the interior affairs of Belarus and provoked national conflicts.” Summing up, the state-owned news agency BelTA reports: “We cannot expect this Prime Minister to make positive changes in the bilateral relations.” Similar accusations appeared in the official newspaper “Sovetskaya Belorussia.”

Nevertheless, even if Donald Tusk wanted to come to Belarus he would fail. He’s persona non grata here. In August, the politician planned to visit Grodna to celebrate the Day of the Polish Army. But he was stopped at the border and got the stamp “No Entry” into his passport. “We have poked their face, and that was the right thing to do,” Aliaksandar Lukashenka spoke then about Donald Tusk.
