Party of Regions acknowledged: American political technologists guilty in defeat

The Party of the Regions defeat in the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine and the attempts to create the coalition with the “orange” is the result of white-blue cooperation with the American political technologists headed by Paul Manafort. This was declared by the Party of the Regions candidate to the deputies Yuri Boldyrev.

“The main consultants of the PR Paul Manafort and his company though receiving from the party money for their work, but of course they work ideologically for the US administration which like the Eurostructures makes the aim in achieving piece and friendship between orange and blue-white. The PR representatives have always been saying the same incantation that the country should be united for the last three years. The PR campaign based on that ideology. It is a really good political theory, but not an election slogan, because many people who voted for PR last time now regard such incantations as betrayal of their interests”, - Boldyrev declared in the interview to “Russkaya Linia” edition.

“First of all, the wrong strategy, wrong tactics were chosen… Today everybody agrees with the fact that the PR strategy was wrong. The result is on hand”, - he added.

Besides, the Party of the Regions representative acknowledged that the white-blue initiated the organizing of a referendum on the status of Russia language only after it became evident that PR rating became dangerously low.

“They remembered the old slogan about the status of Russian language only at the finish of the election campaign, when the social polls show we were losing the support, our rating instead of grow begin to fall”, - Boldyrev said.

According to him, the Party of the Regions realized that the refusal of the pro-Russian slogans has led to the situation when the white-blue rating fell and the Communists received the part of the votes.

“In spring 2007 in contrast to the communists the PR twice voted for holding of the NATO maneuvers. In fact the propaganda of our opponents came to the fact that the PR deceived the people. This propaganda influenced our electorate in great degree. Our voter turned to communists. If they had 21 mandates last time, today they have 27 ones, receiving one third of the new places in Rada. At the same time, the PR had 186 mandates and now have 174, in other words it has lost 12 mandates”, - Boldyrev remarks.

It is remarkable, that according to his information, the American political technologists headed by Paul Manafort worked not only for the Party of the Regions but also for “Nasha Ukraina” party.

Boldyrev explained that the American technologists divided into two teams: one went on working for the PR, another one – for “Nasha Ukraina” party. Their decision was not to provide aggressive campaign against one another. However, in the result not only the PR but also “Nasha Ukraina” have lost the votes. Viktor Yushchenko’s bloc had 89 mandates in previous Rada, now he has only 72.

It should be reminded that the Party of Regions earlier has denied their defeat in the elections and their wrong tactics.
