Political Prisoner’s Kazulin’s Case sent to PACE

14:33, — Politics

On November 13, in the framework of the international campaign of solidarity with Alyaksandr Kazulin, a political prisoner, an address to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was sent. As said by the former lawyer of the convicted politician, Ihar Rynkevich, the document had been prepared by the public commission “Free Kazulin!” to the benefit of all Belarusian political prisoners.

Representatives of the public commission have called upon the PACE deputies “to facilitate holding an international legal evaluation of Kazulin’s legal prosecution, and issue PACE Resolution condemning politically motivated repressions against Belarusian citizens, with a demand to release Kazulin and other Belarusian political prisoners”.

“For our part, we have expressed willingness to provide the PACE with necessary documents and other materials confirming that Kazulin’s criminal prosecution is politically motivated and illegal. We are convinced that release of political prisoners, termination of repressions against democratic activists will become real steps demonstrating a striving of the Belarusian regime for a true dialogue with Europe”.
