A picket of solidarity with the political prisoners and families of the famous missing people was held near the Belarusian Embassy in Washington on November, 16.
Traditionally, every 16th day of a month the civil initiatives “Poglad” (“Look”) and “We Remember” gather representatives of Belarusian expat community in the USA to remind the world of the missing people and political prisoners in Belarus. Though the weather was cold, some tens of the people with white-red-white flags took part in the picket near the Belarusian Embassy.
As BelaPAN learnt from Iryna Krasouskaya, one of the picket organizers, the similar actions will be organised every month. In I. Krasouskaya’s opinion, whose husband Anatol Krasouski disappeared in Minsk in 1999, the aim of the action in Washington is to remind the Belarusian authorities once again: the USA and the UE won’t begin constructive dialog on cooperation with the official Minsk, until all the political prisoners are released.
Iryna Krasouskaya said, she would continue exerting all her strength to reveal the secret of her husband disappearance.
The action organisers are going to hold another picket near the Belarusian Embassy in Washington on November, 25 – on birthday of politician Aliaksandr Kazulin, who is in prison now.
