18:10, — Politics

A delegation of the European Commission is expected to arrive in Minsk on Monday evening.

As Janis Aizsalnieks, head of the TACIS Branch Office, told BelaPAN, the delegation, led by Jean-Eric Holzapfel, first counselor at the European Commission's Kyiv-based Delegation to Ukraine and Belarus, will include Brussels- and Kyiv-based experts in devising cooperation projects. According to him, during the three-day visit, the delegation plans to meet with representatives of the foreign, economy and environment ministries, and leaders of non-governmental organizations.

“We’ll be discussing opportunities for carrying out environmental projects within the framework of the 2008 national action program for Belarus,” Mr. Aizsalnieks said, adding that the European Commission had allocated €5 million for these projects.
