The exact number of persons who are to enter the common databank of citizens with a temporarily limited right for leaving Belarus is to become known only after its finalization, BelTA agency informed with a reference to the Internal Affairs Ministry.

Different ministries and agencies are to provide information for the databank. Persons under examination, convicts on parole, those who failed to pay a debt to the state or a citizen, fraudulent tax evaders and so on.

“For today only Internal Affairs System about 5,000 persons temporarily restricted to travel abroad. But even our ministry has much more persons in our database,” the Internal Ministry representative said. At the moment the account of persons restricted to travel abroad is held only after they address for a permission stamp for traveling abroad. After creation of the databank any citizen of Belarus temporarily restricted to travel abroad for some reason, will be entered there automatically.

The Internal Ministry source has underlined that the information on the number of persons restricted to travel abroad will be a secret. Besides, persons entered on the list will be informed about that beforehand. “The person will find out about being on the list immediately at the border only in a case when Internal Affairs Ministry workers have not been able to contact them for objective reasons,” the ministry representative said.

As soon as reasons for a citizen’s staying in the databank disappear, he or she will be excluded from the databank of persons restricted to travel abroad.
