An action of entrepreneurs is to be held on December 10 in Minsk. People are about to come out to Kastrychnitskaya Square to express their protests.
“There are more entrepreneurs who say – we are ready to come out to Kastrychnitskaya Square on December 10. The entrepreneurs are ready to protect their position in the situation when the government says “no” in the form of an ultimatum. We’re loosing our job. There will be entrepreneurs’ protests, we will start a strike; but all that requires more organization work than we do now,” Aliaksandar Makayeu, one of the leaders of the entrepreneurs’ movement, told Radio Svaboda commenting on the meeting held yesterday in Bangalor Square.
According to Makayeu, entrepreneurs have repeatedly applied to Aliaksandar Lukashenka, but never got any outcome.
A meeting of entrepreneurs organized by the republican association “Perspektiva” was held on November 19 in Bangalor Square in Minsk. As we have already reported, about one thousand entrepreneurs took part in the meeting. The participants of the action adopted a resolution where they demanded a meeting with Aliaksandar Lukashenka.
Opposition activist Viachaslau Siuchyk who took part in the action believes the resolution was timed and addressed badly. “It would have been more reasonable to have adopted this resolution in January 2007. Now it’s funny to hear about dear Mr. Lukashenka, about deputies elected by the nation, about courageous struggle of private businessmen organizations for the rights of entrepreneurs. Other leaders of the entrepreneurs’ movement didn’t take the floor at this meeting, which is bad. The present situation is ridiculous,” the politician believes.
