Judgeship of Mahilou Area didn’t satisfy a cassational complaint of public activists Aliaksandr Karalou, Aliaksei Paulouski and Yury Darashenka. They wanted the judgement of the Lenin District Court of Mahilou to be revoked. The court didn’t satisfy their suit to defend their honour, dignity and goodwill, Radio Svaboda reports.
Judgeship of Mahilou Area headed by Sviatlana Stelmakova decided that the judgement of the Lenin District Court was lawful.
Lawyer of the Independent Trade Union of radioelectronic industry Aliaksandr Karalou said after the trial, he hadn’t expect other decision. “We will continue defending our honour, dignity and goodwill in highest courts, and will appeal to the UN Human Rights Committee, if we have to.
But we are sure, the policemen, who detained us unlawfully, and abused us in public on the trial, will be more careful when speaking and doing something. We think we were successful in that,” Aliaksandr Karalou noted.
It should be reminded that public activists Aliaksandr Karalou, Aliaksei Paulouski and Yury Darashenka filed a suit to bring policemen Yaugen Zhylinski, Aliaksandr Syraezhkin and Tatsiana Martynava to responsibility.
The informers accused the policemen of disrespect of honour, dignity and goodwill.
The policemen said on the trial on October, 6, the activists had threatened them bodily harm.
Judge of Lenin District Court Valiantina Lapatina found complaints of the public activists groundless and refused to satisfy the suit.
In April 2007, the public activists tried to blame policemen in an attempt to scuttle a trip to the organising conference of the Union of Left Parties of Belarus. Judge Sviatlana Buraka found the claims of the activists groundless, too.
