An action of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners, missing oppositionists, all people fighting for freedom and democracy in Belarus took place in Washington opposite the Belarusian Embassy on Alyaksandr Kazulin’s birthday, November, 25, .
Members of organisation “Poglad”, foundation “We remember”, Belarusian students, studying in the USA, US students, representatives of Belarusian community in the USA, Washington dwellers and others took part in the action.
The action participants held white-red-white flags, banners “Freedom for Kazulin”, “Belarusian Themis not for Kazulin”, “Release all political prisoners now”, and portraits of prisoners of conscience Artur Finkevich, Zmiter Dashkevich, Alyaksandr Kazulin, Andrei Klimau, Yury Lyavonau and Mikola Autukhovich.
Although it was a day off and the Americans celebrated the Thanksgiving Day, many Washington dwellers received information about the situation with human rights in Belarus. By-passers said they were solidary with Alyaksandr Kazulin, asked to say words of support to his family and families of all political prisoners.
Last picket near the Belarusian Embassy in Washington was held on November, 16. The next action of solidarity in Washington is scheduled for December, 16, on the day of Solidarity with Belarus.
