Lukashenka is currying favour with Chinese PM

“The common political aims, grounded on similar vision of the main world problems and ways to solve them, create an additional basis for our relations”, A. Lukashenka said in Minsk at the negotiations with the official delegations of CPR heading by Wen Jiabao, the Premier of the State Council.

In this connection Lukashenka said “we are interested in mutual consolidation of positions with the help of political cooperation, military-technical and science-technical cooperation, and also by effective trade-economic and credit-investment ties”. A. Lukashenka also declared that the economies of the countries are complimentary. “We are glad the sales volume between Belarus and China exceeds USD 1 billion in 2006. It was time when we were dreaming about USD 500 mln and considered it would be hard to achieve’, the president of Belarus declared.

“I would express the gratitude to the leadership of China for this political, diplomatic and economic support you giving to Belarus”, - A. Lukashenka declared.

“We appreciate it, we are proud of our relations with great China, that are demonstrating stunning rate of growth in all directions”, the Belarusian president noted.

A. Lukashenka said that within the last 15 years “China has ascertained that Belarus is a reliable friend of Chine and Chinese people”. “I want to assure the people and the leadership of China that Belarus will continue its policy towards the People's Republic of China”, - he stressed.
