Quota for joining Belaya Rus 8

13:16, — Politics

Education ministry has circulated an instruction to almost all universities of the country. It requires organizing primary cells of the newly-minted public association “Belaya Rus”.

Moreover, three higher education establishments of the country are obligated to create such primary organizations with at least 100 persons, and at least 50 participants in other universities, “Belarusian partisan” informs.

A vice-principal of the Belarusian State University in 1995-1997 Anatol Paulau does not find it surprising. As said by him, “with indefatigable pertinacity the regime continues to copy the worst from the Soviet era. After Herculean efforts to popularize a youth movement Belarusian Republican Youth Union, imitating the late Young Communist league, and started to create something like the Communist Part”.

As A. Pulau believes, “students will be banally herded into the organization, like it was with the BRYU. It is not excluded it could be done in exchange for credits. Another thing is that this innovation would cause no enthusiasm, and party membership cards would be thrown away at the earliest opportunity like 20 years ago”.

It should be noted that during the founding congress of “Belaya Rus” the chairman of this public association, Education Minister Alyaksandr Radzkou, many times stressed that “the movement is founded on he initiative of people, and nobody would be forced to join it”.
