Detained activists of “Jeans for Freedom” at large

Activists of the civil campaign “Jeans for Freedom”, detained when picketing the Department of Corrections, were released from the Leninski District Internal Affairs Department without any reports drawn up. The young people were taken video and were fingerprinted.

As the Charter’97 press center has informed earlier, the activists of the civil campaign “Jeans for Freedom!” were picketing the Department of Corrections at the Ministry of Internal Affairs yesterday. The young people were standing with portraits of political prisoner Artur Finkevich. The picket participants were shouting: “Freedom for Artur Finkevich!”

After some minutes policemen run up to them. They tore the portraits and caught 5 young people. Mikita Shutsyankou, Nasta Lipnitskaya, Palina Dzyakava, Filip Bikanau and Palina Kuryanovich were detained.
