Entrepreneurs from regions come to rally in Minsk

Gomel local authorities fear unauthorised actions of entrepreneurs can be held on in the city on 10 December. Iryna Kaminskaya, member of the coordinating council of individual entrepreneurs, activist of the movement “For Free Development of Enterprise” said it to the press service of the United Civil Party. Recently Iryna has been invited to visit the local City Executive Committee and warned she would be responsible for “mass disturbances” if they would occur in the city on 10 December.
It should be reminded that Iryna’s car was stopped by road police (GAI) under pretence of searching for stolen icons and was guarded to police. The car was searched by police, who confiscated 300 appeals to entrepreneurs on the subject of the coming action of protest on Kastrychnitskaya Square. According to Iryna, as soon as information about confiscation of leaflets appeared on the Internet, many Gomel entrepreneurs asked to meet with her.
“The majority has no information about the future events in Minsk. The administration of the trading objects of the city are gathered in the Area Executive Committee from time to time and said the problem of repeal of the decree ¹ 760 is not acute anymore, re-registration of the individual entrepreneurs into private unitary enterprises was successful and everybody is glad. It can’t be called other than a brainwash,” Iryna tells. According to her, entrepreneurs have addressed her to discuss development prospects of private business after the decree ¹ 760 will come into force.
“I set up an appointment with them at the building of the Area Committee, I was planning to come to a café and talk with them. But I was called to economy department of the area committee on 4 December. They asked me what the purpose was of organised by me demonstration near the administrative building. I explained it wouldn’t be a demonstration, but meeting of people in the street. Does law forbid it? Today form 11.15 a.m. till 1.30 p.m. 6 policemen were watching my house, they hindered me to leave the house,” Iryna tells.
But nevertheless meeting with the entrepreneurs was held. Anatol Zmitrovich, chairman of the coordinating council, headed it. He arrived in Gomel from Svatlagorsk specially for it. A resolution, adopted by members of the coordinating council, was discussed at the meeting. It will be read out on the rally on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.
After the meeting took place, the policemen at the Iryna’s house went away.
“The authorities are making a political problem of an economic one, – Kaminskaaya thinks. – This is a reason that Gomel entrepreneurs are going to come to Minsk on 10 December.”
