One of the leaders of “For Freedom” movement is arrested

12:07, — Politics

Activist of the “For Freedom” movement Andrey Sharenda was detained near his house today morning. Now the militiamen are guarding him to Maskouski District Internal Affairs Department of Brest.

Sharenda managed to phone and said that the militiamen didn’t tell him what he had committed and why he was detained. The activist thinks there is the connection between his arrest and his participation in the presentation of Paval Seviarynets’s book “Letters from Forest” 19 August when more than 40 people were detained and accused of participation in unapproved meeting.

“But I admit that they can draw a report under any other article of the Code of Administrative Offences”, the activist added.

As it was noticed, 19 August more than 40 activists of the democratic movement were detained at the presentation of Paval Seviarynets’s book “Letters from Forest”. At the first trial on Andrey Sharenda’s case the judge sent the case for revision to Maskouski District Internal Affairs Department of Brest, the press service of Aliaksandr Milinkevich informs.
