Lukashenka dismissed chairman of Constitutional Court

Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree relieving Rygor Vasilevich of the post of chairman of the Constitutional Court, Interfax learnt form the press service of head of state.

“According to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, head of state ordered by the decree to relieve Rygor Vasilevich of the post of chairman and judge of the Constitutional Court in view of expiration of his term of office and retirement with further notification of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly about his dismissal,” the president’s press service noted.

R. Vasilevich headed the Constitutional Court since January, 1997.

It should be reminded that Alyaksandr Lukashenka dismissed president’s aide on ideology Aleg Pralyaskouski, and head of the Department of president’s affairs Uladzimir Kulichkou yesterday.
