Up-to-date hotel and business centre to replace Belarus Hotel

9:52, — Economics

A hotel and business centre will be constructed to replace the Belarus Hotel. The presentation of the project in Minsk Town Hall was attended by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

According to specialists, the Belarus Hotel is ineffectual. Its premises do not correspond to the international requirements. The reconstruction will not make small hotel rooms more comfortable. Moreover, the building cannot be fitted with an effective engineering support system.

In this connection the Minsk city developers have proposed to demolish the building to replace it with an up-to-date facility. “Potential investors have expressed their interest in the project. We plan that the investor will finance the expenses related to the dismantling of the Belarus Hotel,” chief architect of Mink Viktor Nikitin reported to the President.

According to him, the new compound will include a five-star hotel and a Class A business centre meeting all international standards. The compound will also include an entertainment centre, a swimming-pool, sports and other facilities.

The 40-45 storied compound will feature three towers, two of them will be housing a hotel, the third – a business centre. The upper floors will accommodate several restaurants with the observation deck on top of the building. The new hotel is expected to have a helicopter pad.
