Lukashenka’s visit to Zhodzina to be remembered for long

15:38, — Politics

Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s visit to Zhodzina’s open joint-stock company Svitanak which took place on January 25, was an unpleasant surprise for citizens. They were driven into yards, ordered to close windows, while oppositionists were accompanied by policemen.

As Bulletinonline informs, by 10 a.m. public transport traffic had been almost paralyzed. Central streets were blocked not only for cars, but for pedestrians as well.

Zhodzina dwellers had to walk, but polite people in mufti directed passers-by to yards. Dwellers of the houses ton the streets where the president’s convoy of cars was to pass, were insistently recommended not only to shut all windows, but even to draw the window-curtains.

Besides, suspicious local authorities were concerned about local oppositionists. The chairman of the public association “Union Chernobyl” registered in Ukraine, an activist of the United Civil Party Alyaksandr Vauchanin spent all the time of Lukashenka’s visit under home arrest in a company of Zhodzina policemen.
