Commemoration action in Kurapaty (video)

9:21, — society

About 20 public activists came to the memorial to victims of Stalin’s repression in Kurapaty, on the Minsk skirts, on 29 January to commemorate the repressed people. They laid flowers to the memorial and lightened candles.

As politician and public activist Vyachaslau Siuchyk said to BelaPAN, it was decided to support the proposal of the memorial commission of the Association of the Historical and Cultural Monuments Protection to continue actions, held last year every 29th day of a month for commemoration victims of totalitarian regime.

According to V. Siuchyk, Belarusians don’t know how many their nationals were tortured during the 20th century. “We’ll continue actions on commemoration of the innocent victims of our people to make Belarus a civilised and democratic country,” the politician said.
