Lukashenka attacking western ambassadors again 28

Alyaksandr Lukashenka expressed his dissatisfaction with activity of the ambassadors of the most EU countries and the US, but noted a positive role of Germany’s ambassador to Minsk. “I don’t fully understand roles of most of the EU ambassadors, and especially, the US ambassador. I don’t want to hide it, and that’s why I express sharp criticism sometimes,” he said.

Meeting with Germany’s Ambassador Gerbhardt Weiss in Minsk, the head of state noted: “We are a sovereign, independent state already for 15 years. It is a fact that we are stable, don’t make any problems to anyone, neither our neighbours, nor Germany, France and the USA. So what do they want from us?”

Lukashenka thanked the ambassador for his work in Belarus. “I know, some your colleagues are not satisfied with your work. But we have nothing to hide, and I am grateful to you for the position you hold in our country. I know, you are not in easy situation,” the head of state said. According to him, “role of an ambassador in a receiving country is establishing of normal friendly relations between a native country and a host one.” “To my great regret, the western ambassadors have no such a desire,” he said.
