Justice Ministry and BelTA are bad at figures

The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Party of Communists of Belarus Syarhei Kalyakin has sent a letter to the Justice Ministry of Belarus, to the Supreme Court and the BelTA agency in connection with the report disseminated by the informational agency BelTA about an intention of the Justice Ministry to liquidate the Party of Communists of Belarus.

As stated in the letter of Kalyakin, “all facts of this report are incorrect, starting with the fact that the six-month term of suspension of the Party of Communists of Belarus expires on January 2, 2008. According to the decision of the Supreme Court, it expires on February 2, 2008”.

The leader of the PCB stated that according to the law, the PCB will send to the Justice Ministry a report about elimination of breaches of regulations at least 10 days before the end of the term, AFN informs.

“As for the interviews given by Belarusian citizens who are members of the PCB, they use their rights granted to them by the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus,” Kalyakin notes.

The leadership of the PCB views this report “as a politically motivated action which aim is discrediting of the PCB, psychological attack on public opinion and exerting pressure on the court in the direction necessary for those who had ordered liquidation of the PCB”.

The PCB Central Committee demands to “refute BelTA report, and bring to account those who are responsible for giving false information”.

As noted in the comments at the web source of the PCB, “those who studied arithmetic in school, can easily say that six months after August 2 are to expire on February 2”. All attempts to find out who and how had make a mess of the information, were unsuccessful. That is why the question what the Justice ministry would do and what about arithmetic remains open.
