The adopted by the European Parliament resolution says about lifting sanctions against a number of Belarusian officials. The Charter’97 press center asked a member of the Belarusian delegation in Strasbourg to comment on this fact.

MEPs said yesterday: Lukashenka released political prisoners, but Europe didn’t make a step forward. They said the sanctions against some Belarusian officials, with whom they are going to negotiate, should be lifted. They didn’t discuss cancelling sanctions against Lukashenka. However, this issue was interesting for everyone. It’s too early to say who will be allowed to Europe. The concrete names weren’t called,” Paval Sevyarynets, head of the organising committee on creation Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, who was present at the session of the European Parliament together with Alyaksandr Milinkevich and Alyaksandr Kazulin.
