Everyone knows, utility charges were to grow in price since January in Belarus. But not everyone knows, gas has risen in price most of all: its price has increased by 90 per cent.

– We were shocked when we received January bill: we have to pay 18 480 for gas (we are five in the apartment). The sum was two times less last month! – People from a house in village Machulishchy said.

– I must pay 3 696 rubles instead 1 936, as it was in December. Why? – Minsk dweller Yury Vasilyevich, living on Brylyouskaya Street, wonders.

Specialists say there are no mistakes, and refer to the resolution of the Council of Ministers of Belarus №69 of 18 January, 2008.

How the utility charges have grown?

Gas – has become more expensive by 90 per cent;

Technical servicing charge – grown by 6.8 per cent;

Water – grown by 25 per cent per 1 cu m;

Sewerage – grown by 25 per cent;

Garbage disposal – grown by 6 per cent

Elevator using –grown by 6 per cent.

Belarus buys Russian gas at USD 119 for 1 000 cu m.

Rate of one cubic meter for population (with absence of individual gas heating facilities and gas heating boilers)is 462 rubles. Thus, the population buy gas at USD 215 per 1 000 cu m.
