Looks like plot against Lukashenka is incubated in the country…

Today Alyaksandr Lukashenka has come down on officials of his own administration and General Prosecutor’s office. As said by him, he feels that “certain persons” are starting to act around him. Prosecutors have got into politics; the presidential administration exerts pressure on higher bodies of the state power. “You know, they are concerned how the US and the EU would look at us!” Lukashenka said.

Does prosecutor’s office behave outrageously?

“There won’t be outrage in the country, and certain workers of prosecutor’s office would have to leave their certain vain and ambitious plans somewhere at home, or to leave the position in the prosecutor’s office,” A. Lukashenka said.

As said by the head of the state, “the prosecutor’s office, first of all, the Prosecutor’s General’s office, is a part of our law-enforcing system; it’s a part of our society, and definitely a controllable part. That is why in the near future the control over the activities of the prosecutor’s office is to be tightened by me,” A. Lukashenka said.

The Belarusian ruler stated that “professional work of prosecutors in lacking”. “What’s depressing is not your lack of knowledge, but that some of you have too high ambitions,” the head of the state said. As said by him, “prosecutors have forgotten the function they have been imposed upon you by the law. This criticism concerns me to the full extent as well, because I trusted the prosecutor’s office too much, and such a situation in this connection,” he stated.

A. Lukashenka noted that he lacks information about the situation in law-enforcing agencies, professional adequate evaluation. “I feel that certain persons start acting around me and start controlling the prosecutor’s office. It’s absolutely intolerable. I won’t allow pressurizing courts or prosecutors,” the Belarusian ruler stressed.

A. Lukashenka finds it unacceptable, that “some prosecutors, [people in] some courts have got into politics”. “You know, they are concerned how the US and the EU would look at us. These are not your problems, these are problems of the president and the prime-minister. We are to grapple with political problems. And you have the law and the Constitution.

Act realigning your actions, proportioning them with demands and needs of our society,” he stated.

“Treat people, especially senior officials, humanly”

Reminding about his recent visit to “Vityaz” enterprise, A. Lukashenka said that “as a result of bungling of law-enforcing agencies, this enterprise is turn somersaults, but cannot go away from the situation it has been driven into”. “And what’s the result? Several years have passed, and where is the prosecutor’s office? And why they haven’t been asked why the investigation is held without rhyme or reason?” A. Lukashenka said.

He warned: “You can become the same common people as them at any time. Treat people, especially senior officials, humanly. And when you raise claims against high-ranking officials, whose names have importance for the society, you should raise them the way they couldn’t wiggle out,” A. Lukashenka said.

“But the practice is usually as following: somebody has told something, testified, and is still remaining out of prison. Let’s imprison the commanding officer, and a criminal who had given a bribe, committed crimes, is at large. I ask prosecutors, why?” the president asked.

Addressing to workers of prosecutor’s office, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said: “If somebody is interfering you, just say me. I have enough power to put all in their places,” he stressed.

“I am warning Presidential Administration…”

A. Lukashenka has stated that in the near future he is set to return to consideration of issues connected with activities of law-enforcing agencies and prosecutor’s office. “I am warning the presidential administration: no pressure on highest agencies of State power should be exerted”. “You are experts, president’s assistants. You should filter information flowing to the president and express your opinion,” A. Lukashenka said.

“But to pressurize, to lend a halo of some fabulousness around civil servants, such things shouldn’t happen, an end should be put to such things,” he underlined.
