Journalist Zdzvizhkou transferred to prison hospital due to vision troubles

Mother of journalist Alyaksandr Zdzvizhkou, sentenced to three years in prison for printing caricatures on the Prophet Mohammed, visited the prison hospital and learnt the reasons of hospitalisation. As a doctor of the neurology unit said to Hanna Zdzvizhkova, vision of the former deputy editor of the newspaper “Zhoda” declined.

“I’ve settled nerves now. I thought, he had troubles with lungs, because he smokes a lot, or had a cold. He said it was cold in the cell. But it was found out his vision declined. It’s clear why. There is not enough light. He wrote, he wanted to work, but there was no computer. He wrote, they were sitting in the dark,” mother of the convicted journalist said to Radio Svaboda.

It’s unknown yet when Alyaksandr Zdzvizhkou would be discharged from the hospital, Telagraf reports. According to the doctor, his condition is satisfactory, doctors treat his progressive myopia, but exact term of discharge is unknown.
