Entrepreneurs: If you don’t want to negotiate, we’ll take to streets 6

16:25, — Politics

Baranavichy city executive committee (Brest Region) denied individual entrepreneurs holding a general meeting with the authorities’ representatives on 28 February.

As BelaPAN has learnt on 22 February from Mikola Charnavus, member of the coordinating council of the Baranavichy Cooperative Market, on 19 February individual entrepreneurs sent a letter to the city executive committee with a request to lend them a room for holding a general meeting with participation of the authorities’ representatives on 28 February. The answer was received on 21 February. “The letter runs the authorities consider the meeting to be unpractical. They think, such meeting were held several times, but it is not so, we had only one meeting after a rally,” M. Charnavus said.

The meeting was organised after the demonstration held in Baranavichy on 11 February.

M. Charnavus said having received the refusal, the individual entrepreneurs composed a new application and passed it to the committee. “If they don’t want to meet with us, it’s their will. But they may lend us a place where we can discuss our future, as well as problems of rent growth and increase of single tax rate,” he noted. According to the activist, the individual entrepreneurs ask to give them a room for 28 February. If there is no such opportunity, they are to hold the meeting on the territory of Baranavichy Cooperative Market on 1 March.
