Alyaksandr Kazulin urges to proclaim 2008 Year of Belarusian People’s Republic

A political prisoner, a former presidential candidate Alyaksandr Kazulin urges Belarusian democratic forces to proclaim the year 2008 the year of Belarusian People’s Republic (BNR) and support the movement of entrepreneurs.
A. Kazulin has sent two statements from the colony “VItsba-3” where he is serving the sentence. “Though the regime represented by deputies of the Chamber of representatives to the proposal of the Belarusian civil society to recognize and officially celebrate the anniversary of the BNR procaltation the answer was “no”, I call upon the united democratic forces (UDF) to announce this year the year of the Belarusian People’s Republic, the Year of Belarusian Statehood, and inform the international community about that,” A. Kazulin stated.
In the second statement in support of individual entrepreneurs A. Kazulin notes that “the movement of individual entrepreneurs and youth are in the vanguard of the struggle. That is why the opposition should have a single strategic plan of work with individual entrepreneurs’ movement and youth, with creating organizing centres if necessary,” A. Kazulin believes.
