The final report reveals the mechanism of persecution of people on political motives and contains not only a list of people, who suffered from political repressions, but also a list of governmental officials and militiamen, involved in violation of human rights in Belarus. There are 472 names in the “black list”, Polskie Radio reports.
One of the coordinators of the project Marek Bucko told about purposes of the polish scientists, who researched violation of human rights in Belarus.
According to him, the objective was to show the people who violate human rights in Belarus and feel they are unpunished, they will have trial for their unlawful actions.
“There’s nothing like belief that nobody will learn about it that tempts one to violation the law. Our list contains about 20 per cent of names of the whole number of people violating human rights. But we hope these people realise the public know what they are doing. Everyone, who breaks the law, should be responsible for it. Besides, we hope an official who knows about such a list, will think whether it is worthy to violate human rights in order to be praised by the authorities,“ Marek Bucko says.
The researches of the political repressions in Belarus are going to appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Polish Administration with a request to forbid the named in the report individuals entry to Poland.
