UCP received more then 10 denial letters for lodging convention

The United Civil Party hasn’t managed to rent premises for holding a convention of the party on April 20 yet. More than 10 denial letters have been received from different institutions of Minsk by today.
Among them are the REpubilcan Culture and Eduaction center, the Palace of Culture of Veterans, N. Sharko House of Culture, Yanka Kupala library, the Belarusian State Agriculture and Technical University, Legal Science Institute and others, the UCP press-service informs.
As reasons for refusal it is stated that premises would be occupied. Yanka Kupala library explained the denial by the fact that its statute “does not allow organizing and holding events connected with statutory activities of public associations, parties and their institutional structures”. The dean of the Belarusian State Agriculture and Technical University, Mikalay Kazaravets, neglected indication of refusal’s reason.
“They create problems out of nothing, and mass denial letters are received by us,” the leader of the UCP noted. We shall address Lukashenka or hold the convention on October Square in front of his residence”.
