Kazulin’s daughter demands punishment for her father be changed

13:58, — Politics

Alyaksandr Kazulin’s younger daughter Yuliya wrote the second letter to colony Vitba-3 warden Vital Ahnistykau, asking to change the punishment for her father.

Ihar Rynkevich, former lawyer of the political prisoner, said to Radio Racyja.

Yuliya Kazulina sent her first letter to the colony yet in January. But then, Ihar Rynkevich noted, the Vitba-3 administration refused to change Kazulin’s imprisonment for less stricter form of punishment due to formal reasons.

– Relatives asked for parole release in that letter. But, according to the Criminal Code, it can be granted only after a half of a term has been served. Kazulin has served just a third part. So, imprisonment can be changed to other forms of punishment, for instance, to restraint of liberty.

He also stressed the letter didn’t raise the question of amnesty for the political prisoner.

– It is a different procedure. But actually, nothing hinders Lukashenka to exercise his constitutional right and amnesty Alyaksandr Kazulin without any appeals.
