Negative balance of trade with Russia increased 3.4-fold during a month

The shocking data on trade with Russia were released by the Belarusian Ministry of Statistics and Analyse.

The negative balance amounted to 1 billion 26.8 million dollars this January in comparison with 302.5 million dollars last January. Thus, the credit balance has increased 3.4-fold.

The combined foreign trade balance was minus 123.8 million dollars. The main source of negative foreign trade balance was energy export-import operations. The energy export this January was 1,051.4 million dollars, it is three times more than the one last January. Energy import amounted to 1,315.9 million dollars and increased 2.8-fold. Negative balance of energy foreign trade is 264.5 million dollars. It increased 2.1-fold in comparison with January 2007, “Salidarnast” informs.

Growth of energy foreign trade negative balance is caused by excess of increase in oil imports over

oil products exports (by 47.3 million dollars) and increase of natural gas supplies (by 71.4 million dollars)
