Rent increase can shut down 1000 organizations

The council of Francis Skaryna Society of Belarusian language stated that the further existence of this organization is under threat.
In their address to the citizens of Belarus they inform that since March 24 a presidential decree comes into force. According to it, a considerable increase of rent for most non-governmental organizations which are not engaged in profit-making will take place.
The Council of Francis Skaryna Society of Belarusian language states that Minsk office in Rumyantsay Street 13 will cost 846.5 Euro a month. Authors of the address note that because of the rent increase in the country more than 1000 public associations that make up a civil society can disappear.
In this connection the Society of Belarusian language firstly asks its supporters to send donations, and on the other hand calls upon people to write letters to state institutions with a demand to preserve the reduction factor of 0.1 per 1 square meter for rent for all non-governmental organizations in Belarus.
