KGB looking for cartoons 8

Journalist Barys Harestki, working for Radio Racyja, who was detained today in Minsk by KGB, answers the phone. He said an apartment, hired by one of the radio journalists, was searched by six KGB officers.

They seized all computers and sound recording equipment. They said they carried out an operation in the frames of the cartoons case, which KGB officers began to investigate again. This case was initiated in 2005 against activists of the organization The Third Way, which produced cartoon with political contents about the president of Belarus.

Journalist Yuliya Kotskaya, who was detained with Barys Haretski, and equipment of Radio Racyja were taken away from the KGB. BelaPAN journalist Alyaksandr Yanusik, who came to study out the situation, was detained, too. He was released. Barys Haretski is at large, too.
