On April 13 a Ukrainian-Belarusian party took place in the culture and art center “Pidwall” affiliated with the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
In the framework of the event a presentation of the new books of Belarusian writers (U. Akhromenka, M. Klimkovich, N. Babina, S. Kvyatkouski, S. Prylutski, L. Asipenka, K. Kvyatkouska), and a Ukrainian-Belarusian poetical slam have taken place, Radio Svaboda informs.
“Slam” looked like a boxer tournament: a ring was constructed. Ukrainian and Belarusian poets in pairs competed showing their skills in poetry. The Belarusian team consisted of Vera Burlak, Viktar Zhybul, Maryja Martysevich, Syarzhuk Myadzvedzeu, Vital Ryzhkou and the trainer of the team, Andrei Khadanovich. According the decision of the public, Belarusian team won.
The literary soiree was the last event in the culture festival “Belarusian Spring” organized by activists of the initiative “Salidarnasts” (Solidarity). The festival started in Kyiv on March 22.
During the festival exhibitions of Belarusian photographers, presentation of films about Belarus, round table discussions with participation of Belarusian journalists, performances have taken place.
