On April 16 the Day of Belarusian Solidarity is traditionally celebrated in Belarus. For a few years in our country and abroad rallies with a call to the regime to release prisoners of conscience and stop repressions against oppositionists are held.
Over the last two months political prisoners Andrei Klimau, Zmitser Dashkevich, Artur Finkevich, Mikalay Autukhovich, Yury Lyavonau, a journalist Alyaksandr Zdzvizhkou have been released.
The former candidate for presidency in Belarus Alyaksandr Kazulin, a young activist Andrei Kim, a leader of entrepreneurs Syarhei Parsyukevich are remaining in prisons. The list of political prisoners can become longer. Today “the process of the 14” starts in the court of Tsentralny district of Minsk. Participants of the protest rally of market vendors held in Belarus in winter will stand trial.
The US imposed sanctions against enterprises of Belneftekhim because the regime refused to release all political prisoners. The European Union has extended the ban for entering the EU states for Belarusian officials responsible for human rights violations in Belarus.
