Solidarity Rally near Belarusian Embassy in Moscow 1

14:34, — Politics

At about 1 p.m. Minsk time a rally of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners and activists who are standing trial today for joining market vendors’ protest, started near the Embassy of Belarus.

Radio Svaboda has been told about that by an activist of the youth organization “Oborona” Oleg Kozlovsky.

“Here, in Marosejka Street near the Belarusian Embassy several dozens of activists of the initiative “Solidarity with Belarus” and Belarusian expat community members have gathered. We have a symbolic cage in our hands, and we are going to release political prisoners from it. Policemen were not interfering with us, but riot policemen have interposed into the matter. They are trying to seize the cage and detain one of the activists (Yan Markov). However the rally continues. People scan: “Freedom to political prisoners!” the activist reported.

As said by Oleg Kozlovsky, nobody from Belarusian Embassy came out to talk to protesters, but several persons in plainclothes were observing the rally.
