In a few weeks before his vacation of a position Agriculture Minister of Belarus Leanid Rusak had written a critical article on the policy of the state at the pages of “Belorusskaya Niva” newspaper.
The former minister criticized directions of the current state policy in import and rural areas financing. In his article he challenged the necessity of growth of gross output of agriculture.
As for the work of agriculture, the minister said the following:
“At about 40% of farms cheap labour is prevailing. Cows are milked in buckets; there are no milk delivery lines and cooling equipment. Wages of workers do not exceed 250 -300 thousand rubles. Costs for renewal of the main flock are not included in costs of production, while it’s the third part in milk production outgoings”.
At the same time, as we have informed, Alyaksandr Lukashenka many times said that wages of dairymaids is much higher than 250,000 Br ($120).
In 2006 at a meeting with Russian journalists the Belarusian leader said: “We have finished construction of an agro-town. I have “sold” this collective farm to the chairman of the Nartional bank Prakapovich… It’s a district, an average district, like in Moscow Oblast…. I ask him: how are things? People are queuing to get a job at a farm! A dairymaid is paid up to $600 a month, he said. $600 in a Belarusian village is a huge sum, considering our costs!”
In 2007 at a meeting with Russian journalists Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that “conditions like in a city” were created in agro-town, and “a milkmaid is paid $700-800 in a good period”.
It looks like the truth about wages of a dairymaid has become one of the main reasons for Leanid Rusak’s saying goodbye to the position of a minister.
