Lech Walesa: “Europe won’t be happy without Belarus and Ukraine” 4

12:34, — Politics

A Belarusian issue was touched during a meeting of the former Polish president Lech Walesa and participants of the conference in Gdansk (Poland), organised by European Democrat Students on 23-26 April.

According to BelaPAN, answering the question on political perspectives for Belarus, the former Polish president said during his presidency he had vigorously opposed Poland’s joining the EU without Belarus and Ukraine. But his follower Alexander Kwasniewski had another opinion.

L. Walesa noted that Europe doesn’t use all possibilities to help Belarus, because Europe is not united till end and isn’t powerful enough. The former president expressed a hope the situation would soon be changed, and the democratic Belarus would join the countries with European values and European living standards. “Europe won’t be happy without Belarus and Ukraine,” Lech Walesa said.
