Government again raises prices of socially important goods

Limit factory prices of wheat flour, bread and bakery, milk, kefir, sour cream, quark, beef and pork have been increased in Belarus since 1 April.
“According to the order No 72 of the Ministry of Economy, limit factory prices of wheat flour for breadbaking have been increased by 2.5-3 per cent dependent on its grade since 1 April 2008,” the statement of the Ministry of Economy says.
Rise in limit selling prices of flour is caused by low profitability and loss of producing of wheat flour for breadbaking which is connected with the increase in energy resources costs and partial purchase of imported wheat at world prices, which level rose considerably in 2007, the ministry explained.
