9:29, — Politics

Activists of youth organisations, arrested for participation in action on 25 March, will be released today from the prison on Akrestin Street after serving 10 days of arrest.

Relatives, friends and politicians will wait for youth activists near the prison gates in the evening. According to the court decision the arrested will be set free at 6.30pm. There are nine people – Yauhen Afnahel, Ales Vanchuk, Maksim Vinyarski, Kasya Halitskaya, Zmitser Kurza, Ihar Panfilau, Andrei Salahin, Artsyom Skarabahatau and Alyaksandr Stankevich.

Five people of those, who serve 10 days of arrest, got into prison for the first time. All people who got into the prison on Akrestin Street say the most unpleasant thing there is lack of fresh air. Though the new Administrative Code guarantees walks for prisoners, the administration continue to keep them in cells till the end of a term. Doctors advise former prisoners to go out as often as possible and take vitamins.

10 oppositionists will remain behind the bars. Among them are Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich, his assistant Artur Finkevich, entrepreneur Viktar Kalei and “Nasha Niva” journalist Syamyon Pechanko.
