The United Civil Party (UCP) can’t find a place for holding its XI session. According to the party leader Anatol Lyabedzka, more than 20 various Minsk establishments refused to afford premises.
“As the result we had to appeal to Mikhail Paulau, head of the Minsk city executive committee, with a demand to render help in leasing of premises for the session. The appeal was sent on 14 March, so officials still have 10 days to answer,” the politician said.
A. Lebedzka noted the party was technically ready for the session, report and electoral meetings will be held in the remaining two regions this weekend. It is planned that 230 UCP representatives will take part in the session.
“According to the party rules, the session must be held at this time. If we are not able to lease premises, we will have to hold the session outdoors. There is a plenty of such places in Belarus: from Belavezhskaya Pushcha to October Square in Minsk,” the politician said.
The main questions on the agenda of the UCP session are accepting of the party new strategy and messages to Belarus and its citizens. Besides, personnel matters, including those concerning leadership of the party, are to be resolved on the session.
