After the visit of lawyer Zmitser Harachka to Alyakasndr Kazulin, some details of the politician’s stay in Vitsebsk colony.
The politician’s daughter Volha Kazulina told about the results of the visit of the lawyer to the colony.
“Father is in a complete informational blockade. He receives very few letters from outside, and it happens infrequently. The administration of the colony tries to isolate Kazulin in all ways. Prisoners are intimidated and try not to communicate with him. If somebody is trying to approach him and start talking, that man is transferred to another zone immediately.
Father planned to be granted a meeting with his family on April 26, and he wrote an application to the administration of the correctional colony No. 3 to be granted a meeting. The administration denied permission on the grounds that there would be no space for that on that day allegedly. As said by my father, there would be free room. But in order to make vacant rooms occupied, prisoners are made to take meetings exactly on April 26. A psychologist of the colony Andrei Lapukhou is the one who is noted for inventing “problems for Kazulin” most. As father told, “Belarus is a totalitarian state in the proper sense of the word. And the approach of Lukashenka to our family is an outrage upon dignity of the dead and to the living”.
As said by my father, further consistent actions are very important now, and imposing economic sanctions by the EU is necessary. “Arguing that Belarus’ economy won’t stand consequences of economic sanctions is ridiculous. We should not mince words. What will prevail, good or evil?”, the politician believes. Besides, Alyaksandr Kazulin is sure that Russia’s position in this issue is highly important as well. That is why the EU and the US should increase pressure in Russia.
