Foreign merchandise trade negative balance for 3 months amounts to almost 1.5 billion dollars

Belarus has negative foreign merchandise trade balance for January-April 2008 of USD 1,323,200,000.

The Ministry of Statistics and Analyse says it. Negative balance has increased by USD 573.1 million for April. Negative balance amounted to USD 1157.4 million in January-March 2007.

Volume of foreign merchandise trade for January-April 2008 is USD 23048.2 million, having increased by 61.1 per cent y-o-y. Import of goods has increased by 57.6 per cent and amounted to USD 12185.7 million, export has increased by 65.3 per cent and amounted to USD 10862.5 million.

Negative balance of trade between Belarus and the CIS countries is USD 3,662,600,00o, of trade with Russia – USD 4,229,500,000, of trade with Germany – near half of billion dollars. Balance of trade with non-CIS states is positive, amounting to USD 2,339,400,000.
