The parliamentary election-2008 could be characterized by massive abstention from vote, deputies of the “chamber of representatives” believe.
Such an opinion has been expressed in an interview to BelaPAN by a member of the state commission on state building, local self-administration and the rules of procedure of the chamber of representatives Volha Abramava.
The “deputy” has noted that “after adoption of the law on repeal of benefits sentiments of the people, especially in cities, have changed greatly”. “Indifference towards politics, incredulity that they, especially the poor ones, could get any considerable help, are to become the most significant problem of the next election,” she believes.
As said by Abramava, “it will be a very great problem for all candidates (no matter who will nominate them) to make voters come to the election and vote, expressing their will”.
The “MP” has expressed doubts that results of opinion polls of centers are right. “Recently I read results of one of surveys. Their conclusion that turnout will be sufficient, raises doubts in my opinion. To my mind, the turnout will not look so optimistic,” the deputy said.
