Journalist Syarhei Panamarou, activist of the “For Freedom” movement, was beaten by militiamen, when he was trying to get to a meeting of Klyotsk officials with entrepreneurs.
Syarhei Panamarou with his journalist card on him entered the building of the district executive committee and reached the third storey. Having received the instructions, the securities brutally pushed Panamarou out.
– A militiaman pushed me from the stairs on the second floor, when I tried to enter the cabinet of the head of the district executive committee to complain at unlawful actions of the securities. I bumped into the wall, blood appeared on my face... I went to the prosecutor’s office and to medical examination after that, – Syarhei Panamarou told to the website milinkevich.org.
The activist of the movement isn’t sure the guilty people will be punished. In his view, menials of the authorities feel they can’t be punished. A militiaman sais he would find many people working in the district executive committee who would witness Panamarou had bumped against the wall himself.” Nevertheless, Panamarou is going to strive for the justice.
The administration of the Klyotsk district executive committee gathered local entrepreneurs, whose trading objects are located in former private dwelling houses, to inform them they should stop their activity as it is “unlawful”. The officials don’t pay attention that the houses stay empty now, activity of entrepreneurs don’t bother neighbours, because the buildings are situated separately from the dwelling houses, that the entrepreneurs have invested great money in accomplishment of the buildings and nearest territory. Following the logic of the officials, this unpopular decision shouldn’t attract attention of the public, so presence of journalists on the meeting was unwelcome.
