A Russian citizen is among the detained in case of a blast in Minsk during the concert on the official Independence Day. He is Vladimir Belunin, 21-year old student of a Minsk university.

As Russian newspaper “Vzglyad” learnt from the parents of the detained, Belunin is very ill, he has unconfirmed diagnosis of anorexia, he can’t even take meal normally.

As Tatsyana Belunina, mother of the detained, told to “Vzglyad” newspaper, her son was taken in custody several times: at first on 4 July, after his exam, their apartment was searched and computer system unit and her son’s cell phone were seized. For the second Vladimir Belunin got to militia on 9 July, he is still there.

According to the parents, their son didn’t go anywhere at night 3/4 July, but was preparing for the exam. “He was at home,” Sergei Belunin, Vladimir’s father, said. According to him, the neighbours saw Vladimir, too.

Tamara Belunina said they had come from Karachay-Cherkessia, where they had lived most of their lives. “We came to the stable Belarus, where I was born, where my children were born,” she said.

The woman emphasised neither she nor her son don’t belong to the opposition and doesn’t take part in the policy of Belarus.

The consulate of the Russian Federation said on Friday they filed a request on detained Belunin.

As “Vzglyad”learnt from the special detention center on Akrestin Street, where Vladimir Belunin is kept, “under article 339 part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, one can be kept up to 10 days without an accusation presented”.

A duty officer also said “witnesses are not kept there, they are at large”.

Tamara Belunina worries because, according to her, he son got ill a year and a half ago and has lost more than 50 kilograms since then. He is not able eat normally, he needs urgent medical help.

“We have found a professor, who can cure our son. He hasn’t eaten for the fifth day. I don’t know how he will manage to spent ten days there,” Belunina said. “He wants to eat, but he can’t,” she added.

“We ask to release him on medical grounds,” Sergei Belunin said. “We can sign any receipt.”

A lawyer filed a motion, but Vladimir Belunin wasn’t released.

“Just say, where I should go to, I’ll fall on my knees, only let them release the ill innocent child!” Tamara Belunina said.

It should be reminded that a bomb exploded in Minsk during the concert on Independence Day.

As it became known on Sunday, Minsk militia is looking for the guilty people by means of house-to-house poll of Minsk dwellers. The main question: “Where have you been at night 3/4 July?”
