When estimating the “parliamentary election” in Belarus, the European institutions will pay attention to the whole electoral campaign, not just voting process, Holger Haibach, deputy chairman of Bundestag Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid, said in Minsk.
“Our approaches towards evaluation of the election don’t mean we will be satisfied with the result, when some opposition figures will be permitted to get to the “parliament” for some reasons,” Holger Haibach, deputy chairman of Bundestag Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid, said in Minsk during a meeting with the members of the Belarusian “parliament”.
The German MP stressed here transparency and democratic character of the electoral process. In particular, he noted that a discussion on formation of election commissions is held in Belarus at the present moment. “The opposition should be included in election commissions, it is the best was to secure transparency of the election,” H. Haibach said.
The head of the German parliamentary delegation also emphasised the Belarusian “parliamentary election” would be able to become a “base for a dialog”, but only in the case it is really free and its results are fully transparent.
