Henadz Buraukin: “The authorities seem not to want democratic development of country”

3

“I wish the election were free. But it’s difficult to speak about any progress if compare with the past,” people’s poet of Belarus Henadz Burauki told in an interview to the Charter’97 press center.

“Being a rather old man, I don’t believe anything may change after this “election”. The authorities seem not to want democratic development of country,” he notes.

Among the current problems, the writer names a problem of self-determination. “Ruining of all Belarusian, Belarusian language has being carried on for many years. It is ruining of the whole state,” Mr Henadz stresses.
