Lidziya Yarmoshyna: “Boycott is amoral and irresponsible”

Head of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna thinks the calls to boycott of the “election” are “amoral and irresponsible”.

She said it at a press conference in Minsk on September 26.

“The political forces, who explain failure of the “election” by their policy, are doomed to extinction,” L. Yarmoshyna thinks.

At the same time, according to her, calling to boycott of the “election” is not forbidden. Agitation “for” or “against” is banned only on the day of election, September 28.

Replying to Yarmoshyna it should be noted that more than 100 cases of arrests of activists of the “Boycott” campaign have been recorded during the “election campaign”. People were arrested for information materials about boycott, thrown to prisons for 15 days. Expelled from universities and fired. These facts were handed to the observers of the ODIHR/OSCE mission by activists of the “Boycott” campaign.
