Minister of defence of Belarus leaving for Kazakhstan for CRRF exercise

3

Leanid Maltsau told this to journalists after presenting a report on the draft law On Status of Service Members to the lower house of the “parliament”.

“I wouldn’t like to talk about the CST O Collective Rapid Reponses Forces now, but if you insist – yes, I am flying to Kazakhstan,” Interfax quotes Maltsau.

We remind that the Ministry of Defence of Belarus is present at the strategic military exercise Cooperation-2009, started in Kazakhstan on October 7. Belarus is represented by an operative group working in the controlling staff. Uzbekistan doesn’t take part in the training.

On August 27, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said at negotiations with the Russian president that he was ready to head of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and join the Collective Rapid Response Forces.

On October 6, a member of the Belarusian “house of representatives” Viktar Huminski said the Belarusian ruler had already signed an order on signing the agreement on the CSTO Collective Rapid Response Forces.

Independent experts believe that the CRRF are created to suppress riots amid the crisis in the CSTO member states.
